I build the software your business actually runs on.

For sole traders, small businesses, and people just starting out. When the work has outgrown WhatsApp, spreadsheets, or a generic app, I build the website or the app that fits.

Tabby

A fair split when someone at the table is a child.

  • iPhone
  • Android · in review

Most expense apps assume every person is an adult with their own login and an equal share. Households are flatmates, couples, trips, and children who do not have phones or bank accounts.

Tabby weights a child’s share by age and settles it through the adult who looks after them. Children do not need accounts of their own.

The iPhone app is on the App Store. Android is in review. I built it because the adult-only model does not fit how households share money.

How I work

From the way you work today to software you can run.

  1. 01 / 04

    Learn the real work

    How the day runs, who it is for, and where it currently leaks — WhatsApp, a spreadsheet, or a tool built for someone else.

  2. 02 / 04

    Agree the rules

    Who does what, and what done looks like, before the screens become the project.

  3. 03 / 04

    Build it and ship it

    A website, an iPhone app, an Android app — whatever the business needs. Something people use.

  4. 04 / 04

    Stay until you can run it

    I take a few projects at a time, so I can stay close until it is yours.

// How I think

I start from the day as it is. Who does the job, what they use now, and where it breaks.

The software has to follow that. A tool built for a different business usually will not.

// What I take on

  • WebA website or web app the business works in every day.
  • PhonesAn iPhone or Android app, when the work is in people’s hands.
  • One placeOne system for a job that is split across WhatsApp, spreadsheets, and a generic app.

That is the work behind OwlEstate, RealMama, Salto Vital, Rockmantic, and the apps I ship myself. I take a few at a time, and I stay until you can run it without me.

// Sofia

Sofia takes the brief.

You talk to her, not to me. She is my helper. She finds out what you want and what the work needs, scopes it, and sends that to me.

Sofia> I'm Sofia. I gather what you need so Carlos has the background before he talks with you, and that first conversation can stay on the work. Tell me everything in your own words. What you run, who it's for, what's in the way, and what you want made. As much as you know. If you don't know something, say you don't know. When you feel you've given enough, say so and I'll write it up.
